• SOFT BODIES, HARD SPACES

a cooperation with Galerie Rudolf Leeb

Galerie Rudolf Leeb presents four up-and-coming positions of the young Viennese art scene. Using the means of painting and sculpture, the artists deal with techno-organic body concepts, with balance, adaptation and recalcitrance and (sexual) differentiation.  In her sculptural work, Julia Belova deals with the style of Baroque aesthetics and the themes present therein, such as the relationship between intimacy and religion, physicality and sexuality.

Egor Lovki combines different media such as mosaic and oil paint, as well as elements of reality with fantasy. Situations from his personal everyday life are translated and expanded through fictional forms and imagery.  Viktoria Morgensterns sculptures are made of brass and steel and have their origins in human physics: from movement to the inner structure of the body and physical sensations. The line and color play a key role in her “utopian bodies”, creating a vocabulary of shapes and shades. For Eva Yurková the focus is on female figures, who the artist carves into wood or stone and glazes with extracts from plant seeds once they are printed. Yurková's themes are primal power and self-empowerment.
