    Ars Electronica Festival 2019, Postcity Linz

    Ars Electronica Festival 2019 presents Markus Oberndorfer's artist statement in the Gallery Space at PostCity, hosted by Bildrecht. His multimedia project REVISITED began 2015 with the idea of questioning the media parameters of the 360° video. Ed Ruschas iconic series Every Building on Sunset Strip from 1966 served the artist as inspiration for this on-going project.

    Markus Oberndorfer aims to highlight the fundamental differences between 360° video and the two main media of our time — photography and film — and to allow for viewers to experience the steps taken from one medium to the other in an interactive media installation. Those who embark on this journey through media history become an active part of the performance themselves.

    Using the Sunset Strip as a point of reference, REVISITED offers a complex examination of 50 years of development of media and generally highlight the influence that time and its concepts have on us, (...) our experience and perception.”     - Markus Oberndorfer
