Artists: Hans Ahnert, Robert Gabris, Eleni Palles,
Christiane Peschek, Philipp Pess, Olivier Hölzl

On darkened 170m2, Hans Ahnert, Robert Gabris, Olivier Hölzl, Eleni Palles, Christiane Peschek and Philipp Pess formulate an impressive cross-media approach.

Hans Ahnert transfers the aesthetics of japanese flower arrangements into his expansive sculpture Ikebana. In a brick-like manner he piles up plant-elements and demonstrates the inertia of perfectionism in contrast to the poetry of nature. With The Forest Robert Gabris presents a seemingly suspended installation of fine etchings on plexiglass. The temporary appearance of this interactive work leaves room for one's own images. Eleni Palles cites the Beuysian idea of sculpture and energy transfer. Her “biosocial” sound- and space installation périple combines usually invisible components of architecture with a mossy landscape, populated by sound producing snails.

Christiane Pescheks NUIT is a reflective surface, a hall of mirrors hidden in the darkness. Only by photographing with a flash, an image, an idea, of the installation can be captured by the viewer. In his object works Dawn and Bleached Horizon, Philipp Pess devotes himself to reduction to pure matter. The desire for untouched experiences of nature leads the artist to construct these surrogates consisting of acrylic glass, neon tubes as well as fog. Olivier Hölzl’s photographes create an archive of events, a typography of the route traveled by the artist along the Rhône, which he makes accessible in illuminated objects and a short stop-motion film.
